Did you know that your church is in the business of training you to do ministry?

He [Jesus] is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility [the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers] is to equip God's people [including YOU & me] to do his work...
Ephesians 4:11-12
(NLT, brackets and bold ours)

Look at these verses very carefully and answer these two simple but life-changing questions:
1. Whose job is it to equip you to do God's work?

2. Whose job is it to do God's work?

What's Your Perception?
Touch the spot on the continuum below that represents your perception of how most people in your church think:

Now, touch the spot that looks closest to the Ephesians 4:11-12 model of ministry.

Over the next few editions of Spiritual Caffeine we're going to help you with both your convictions, confidence and competence to undertake the ministry that God wants for you--moving your finger on the line above to the right. Take a moment to read Ephesians 4:11-15. What are some of the results God wants to see happen through you and your being equipped for ministry?

GET WET: Take a few moments to pray for God to open your eyes to the work that he is calling YOU to do with him. Ask God to make your heart teachable and humble as he uses the leaders in your church and youth group to prepare you for God's work. Pray for God to open your eyes to see ways that he wants you to "GET WET" in ministry today!

THINK: The best way to discover the spiritual gifts that God has given you for ministry is to get into the water and begin to splash around in ministry with your peers who want God to equip them for God's work. What can you do today to be an encouragement to those around you?
